A typical doubt in some cases is if you should use your real name or a pen name in your book. Of course, this is a personal decision. The editor will always have your “real” data, and royalties will be paid to a real person (or company). Only seldom you will find an online editor that will pay to a PayPal account without further details…

Anyway, pen names are a valid, accepted solution. Maybe you produced too much content (novels, short stories, essays) in the past and now you want to publish all that, without saturating your market.

Or maybe you work in two different areas (horror novels and cooking recipes…?) and you want to keep those independent somehow…

All is possible. The only thing you have to do is to find the right name (remember to avoid all celebrities) and use it throughout the whole process with the editor.

Usually, the register process for the author and for each new book will be independent, and you can also include several authors per book; some or all of these could be pen names, which can be good for you if you just want to use a pen name.

Anyway, before starting to look for a nice name and publishing under several pen names, read a bit more on this book, and specifically the promotion and marketing section. You might need to run several author pages on the internet, and this can be a demanding job…
